Campion Academy is starting the new school year with a fresh team of leaders who are passionate about supporting students and strengthening the school’s Christ-centered mission. With renewed energy and a united vision, the new administrators are eager to partner with students, parents, and staff to make this year one of growth and connection.
Kaleb Leeper joins Campion as Principal, bringing experience from his leadership and teaching roles at Adventist schools in Virginia and Georgia. He has a heart for mentoring students and building a school culture grounded in faith, learning, and service. “I am excited for this opportunity to lead because Campion Academy has so much potential,” Leeper shared. “It has a reputation for strong academics and the support of a deeply connected church and alumni community. I believe uplifting Christ should be first, best, and last in our school. I look forward to seeing where God can lead as we move forward with humility and holy boldness.” Joining him is Oliver Bragg as Vice Principal. With nearly a decade of experience as a teacher and leader, Bragg is committed to creating a supportive environment for students and teachers alike. His focus is on strengthening both academics and campus life to help students succeed and grow in their faith. Cara Greenfield, a Campion alum, returns to serve as Vice Principal of Finance. After nearly 20 years working in school administration and finance in places like Canada and Cambodia, she’s excited to give back to the place that helped shape her. “For each of us on the leadership team, coming to Campion has been providential,” Leeper said. “It’s clear that God has led in preparing this team for their new roles. By His grace, we will build a campus where Christ is lifted up, the Word of God is the rule of faith, and every student is supported to thrive in this life and the next.” You’re Invited: Students, parents, and community members are warmly invited to meet the new leadership team on Saturday, July 26 at 7 p.m. at the Campion Church. The evening will begin with sundown worship and continue with games and fellowship in the gym. Whether you're a student, parent, or friend of Campion, come and be part of this exciting new chapter. Parents of enrolled students will also have the opportunity to meet the team at our Village family orientation on Thursday, August 7 at 7 p.m., and Dorm family orientation on Sunday, August 10 at 4 p.m.

Please join us in welcoming Rachelle Martling, who will serve as the Assistant Girl’s Dean. Martling is moving to Colorado from Michigan where she spent a year working on a Master of Divinity degree at Andrews University, before deciding to pursue a position as a dean and teacher. Martling grew up as an academy staff kid at Upper Columbia Academy in Washington. After graduating from UCA, she attended Walla Walla University and completed a degree in Theology. During college, she completed her internship in youth ministries. Later, she spent two years as a Family and Outreach Pastor at Adventist Community Church in Vancouver, Washington before moving to Andrews University. Recently, she has felt a calling to move to academy work. “My childhood had a lot to do with the academy life, and I’ve always wanted to give back,” she explained. “Even going into pastoring, working at an academy was always on my mind and my heart. Recently, many people have been encouraging me to look into teaching and the Holy Spirit kept impressing me that this was the right direction.” Rachelle is married to Ben Martling and they have two young boys: Rendle (4), and Daniel (2). Ben does woodworking and detail carpentry work and will also be helping to care for their two sons. As a family, they enjoy going for walks as well as cooking and baking. Martling concluded, “I’m looking forward to being able to mentor and work with the students, especially the girls in the dorm. I want to support them through the challenging times of adolescence while letting the Holy Spirit lead me to be a positive influence for Christ.” Furthermore, we are thrilled to announce that Cherie Haffner has decided to continue at Campion and will take on the role of Head Girl’s Dean. Haffner said that she absolutely loves being a dean. While she finds the role rewarding, it presents a challenge as her husband lives in California and they have to travel to see each other on weekends and breaks. However, after more prayer and discussion, both she and her husband agree that this is where God wants her to be. We are excited to welcome Andrew Blomberg to the Campion Academy team as Maintenance Director. Blomberg was living locally in Windsor and has been working as a handyman, which has allowed him to begin working immediately, overlapping with Rod Plaisted to learn the ropes over the next few weeks. He began on June 4 and is already overseeing the student work crew for the summer. Blomberg has a varied background with over ten years of experience in construction including carpentry, concrete, equipment operation, and general maintenance. He’s familiar with academy work, having worked at Oklahoma Academy, Ouachita Hills Academy, and Castle Valley Academy. However, Blomberg’s experience isn’t limited to construction; he went to culinary school and worked in the food industry for seven years at the start of his career. Blomberg has felt a call towards ministry at many points in his life. He went to Pacific Union College to study theology; however, he ultimately decided not to pursue becoming a pastor. Despite the ups and downs, God continued to work on his heart and point the way forward. Uncertain of what his future held, he took a job in security at a hospital emergency department hospital. During this time, his faith was renewed as he witnessed time and again the power of prayer. “At the time, I hadn’t understood what it meant to be a minister,” Blomberg shared; “You don’t have to be a pastor to be a minister. I realized God was using me to minister right where I was. I told God, ‘Lord if this is where you want me to be, then I’m happy to be here – thank you for giving me the opportunity to be a minister.’” But after that realization, God opened the way for him to make a greater impact: “Five months later I headed out to Ouachita Hills Academy to work in ministry.” After continuing to serve in various positions at Adventist institutions, he moved out to Colorado in 2023 and worked at Eden Valley for a year. With his sister and mother living in Denver, he decided to stay in the area and continued working as a handyman. He is also an active member and leader at the Fort Collins Seventh-day Adventist church. This continued call to use his skills in an area of ministry has eventually led him to the job at Campion Academy. In his free time, Blomberg says, “I like to cook for friends. I like music, including playing the guitar and writing music. I enjoy fishing, camping, and anything I can do on and in the water.” |
