This year, the Student Association hosted the annual banquet for all the students in the gym. The theme was Renaissance, and the decorations were designed to fit the vibe. Renaissance music played in the background as everyone enjoyed their food and participated in fun activities.
While the students were eating, members of the Student Association called on each table to volunteer a student to battle it out in archery, jousting, and other games. Kylee Hart mentioned, “Even though my friends forced me to participate in the games, it was really fun, and I enjoyed sharing moments with my friends.” After everyone finished eating, students got into buses and vans to go to Fort Collins to enjoy ice cream and walk around to see the lights. Many students expressed that their favorite part of the banquet was enjoying each other’s company. “I liked spending time with all my friends and getting all dressed up,” said Taylin Weber. She also shared that she enjoyed walking around downtown Fort Collins after getting ice cream. “Even though it was cold, it was definitely one of the highlights of my night.” Nicollas agreed, saying, “I had a lot of fun watching the games and enjoyed hanging out with my friends and banquet date. Walking through downtown Fort Collins was perfect for pictures.” Finally, Oscar Ren shared, “My friends and I had a really great time, and this was my favorite activity of the semester. SA decorated and arranged the gym very nicely.” Abigail Brown, Student Editor Last Sabbath was the reveal for Campion Church’s Adopt-A-Student program, in which church members anonymously ‘adopted’ a student to support with prayers, gifts, and letters of encouragement. The Adopt-A-Student program is split across the two semesters of the school year, and the girl students participate in the first semester. Over potluck, the students got to find out who had been behind the gifts all semester.
Teagan Phillips, a junior student participating in the program, reflected, “I was thankful for the gifts and excited to see who my family was. I was a bit nervous while waiting to see who it was but when I saw them I was really happy. I had a great time hanging out and eating with them.” Overall, the girls enjoyed this semester’s Adopt-A-Student. Many were grateful and blessed through the program. Taylin Weber, a junior, shared her favorite gift: “My favorite gift from my adopted family was definitely the blanket they got me, especially with the cold weather!” “I really enjoyed the gifts and anticipation of the reveal,” said Kelly Borne, a senior; “The prayers were super helpful and it was overall a great experience and kept me looking forward to something each week.” Aome Jacob Angeles, Student News Team SymphonyChoraleJazz BandIntermediate BandKoininiaChoirBellsSymphonyJazz Band |
