While the seniors were out surviving the wilderness and cold during Senior Survival, the rest of the classes partied it up. The freshmen, sophomores, and juniors played games and ate food in their respective class parties on Saturday night.
The freshmen had their first class party in the Jahn’s house on campus. They played volleyball and Gaga ball or just lounged around. They had a variety of food. Guilherme Hacker said, “The snacks and the chips were my favorite.” The sophomores had the whole Campion gym to themselves for their class party. They played games such as mafia, freeze tag, basketball, and volleyball. For food the sophomores had watermelon, chips, drinks, and a birthday cake to celebrate two of the students’ birthdays. When asked what Gerrad Vat’s, a sophomore, most memorable moment was at the party, he said: “I would say the cake because it was my birthday and people sang happy birthday to Grace and I.” Sometimes, it isn’t the taste of the food we remember, but the atmosphere. Meanwhile the juniors, 45 minutes away from campus, had their class party in a fellow classmate’s place, the Sorensen’s residence. The Sorensen’s home had a lot to offer for the students’ entertainment. The hot spots of the junior party were the outdoor basketball hoop, the trampoline, the game room, and of course the kitchen. The juniors had an assortment of veggies and chips, as well as pizza and mango smoothies. Josh Fresse, a junior, shared that his most memorable moment was “when Israel asked Mr. Sorensen for a family photo.” Although Israel's request may seem a little unexpected, everyone in the junior class is family, and that applies to all the classes. Overall, these class parties gave students an opportunity to connect and create memories with each other. Aome Jacob Angeles, Student News Team
