“[My main concern was] being able to present the message God gave me in a way that was understandable and made sense,” Campion Academy senior Samuel Middlebrooks commented. Speaking in front a group of people can be terrifying at times. Tuesday evening, Sam went under the stage-lights and delivered a message about the Sabbath. He described the days of the week and how each had a partner, except Saturday.
Sam proceeded to prompt attendees about why the Sabbath was of importance. Cheyenne Martinez, a junior, reflected on Sam’s idea about how the Sabbath is a sign of redemption or deliverance. “One thing that stood out was the verse Mark 2:27, ‘And He said unto them, the Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath.’ We never think of it like that,” she said.
The Sabbath is a great reminder of how “We should trust that everything is in God’s hands,” Sam stated.
Even with the weather against us, rain didn’t stop Sam from delivering the good news. As it began to drizzle, Sam prayed for the Holy Spirit to consume the tent and that at least one person would gain insight of God’s love. Join us tonight, May 11 at 7:00 pm, as Campion junior Rolando Herrera asks and answers, “Is God on my side?”
