![]() Over spring break, Campion Academy took a mission trip to Belize led by Kent Kast and Jim Lynch. The group consisted of 10 students from Campion along with some sponsors. Broken up into groups of five, the Campion students either helped with construction or prepared sermons for nightly evangelistic meetings. Sponsors and local help worked alongside the students at the job site at Ladyville SDA Elementary School near Belize City. We successfully finished pouring the concrete floor of the classroom addition and put up four walls of the building within one week. At the jobsite we interacted with the kids from the school who were very friendly and always waved at us with bright, eager smiles. The students who focused on the evangelistic meetings went on school visits during the day and led their own meetings during the evening. I, along with others, went to hear some of the evangelistic meetings where I met friendly kids that swarmed us with hugs every time we saw them. On Sabbath afternoon, the entire group went to a local orphanage where we donated some clothes, shoes, and toys. Overall, the trip was fantastic. We were able to learn teamwork in hard conditions and see Jesus through the people of Belize. They are so humble and always willing to help with a smile. We appreciated their passion for Christ and love for us all. [article by Lizbeth Camacho, edited by Kelsey Cate]
