Week of Prayer

10/31/2017

This last week at Campion Academy students’ hearts were being changed every day during our Week of Prayer.  Speaker Troy Beans, who was Campion’s Athletic Director on this campus for 20+ years, returned to a familiar campus and spoke to the students on the main topics of how to love yourself physically, emotionally, intellectually, and spiritually.  We had twice-daily sessions of worship, once mid-morning and once in the evening, beginning on Monday, October 23 and ending on Friday, October 27.  On Sabbath morning, the students participated in a beautiful Communion service that seemed like a perfect way to end such an extraordinary week.

Every time Mr. Beans spoke, students were drawn in by the truth and simplicity of his message.

One student commented, “I sometimes have a hard time paying attention in meetings, but as soon as I heard Mr. Beans talk, my focus was on what he was saying.  The messages he gave us were definitely something I think all students our age needed to hear.”

The talk around campus throughout the week was nothing but positive as students anticipated each meeting.  Mr. Beans even had the opportunity to speak to several Bible Classes during the week and spoke to the senior class about marriage and family.

It is always a special week on campus when a visitor comes to speak for Week of Prayer.  It helps remind us to take a break from the busyness of school and life and refocus on what is truly important: spending time with Jesus.  After a busy first quarter of school, this past week was just what we needed!  We are already excited for the next Week of Prayer to come.
