Last weekend, students involved in Wildfire and Handbells visited Grand Junction SDA church to lead out in the church service and give a performance. The Wildfire team, along with Pastor Esequias, gave testimonies for the sermon and planned the song service. Yves Clouzet conducted as handbells performed three different songs for special music, postlude, and prelude.
Most of the students slept in the church and some stayed with families with students at Campion. Erick Maldonado, of the Wildfire Team, shares, “It was definitely a bonding experience between everyone involved in both Wildfire and Handbells.” The members of the Grand Junction SDA Church were extremely welcoming and accommodating. They made sure the students were fed and had a place to sleep. Ireland Anthony, member of the Handbells ensemble, states, “The people were so welcoming to us. They all had smiles on their faces when we performed for them. It was such a blessing.” The Wildfire team will be visiting Grand Junction again during the summer. The students can definitely look forward to more SWAT Trips in the future. By Megan Michalenko, Junior Edited by Faith Paden, Student Life Editor
